Meteor 65/75 EMUFLIGHT Hypetrain

From time to time you may want to try something new, something experimental in terms of performance, handling and battery life.

If you have a Meteor 65 or a Meteor 75, have a go at the below setup and see if you like it!

We are trying to achieve better handling/cornering in flight, more battery life, and using a new mode called "NFE RacerMode " - Its basically Angle mode, but on the Pitch, you have RATE mode.

Another user reported these flight times with just ESC firmware change.

16.70 => 3mn 3mn15s
16.78a12 48khz => 4mn to 4mn20
16.78a12 96khz => 4mn10 to 4mn40

Please note this is an advanced guide, it will assume a high level of competency already and we offer no support through our email. Please visit this facebook thread in our group or ask your questions on the Project Mocking Bird Facebook Group here.

T
his guide can also be applied to other micro quads, but more experience/competency will be required in choosing correct esc firmware and fc firmware.

Step 1. Check your ESC firmware.

You need to know if you have S_H_50 or O_H_50 or another firmware on your ESC - There is different revisions of the ESC sold by BETAFPV so make sure its correct.
You can see this in BLHELISuite 16.7 here

Step 2 - Flash new firmware

For O_H_5 (meteor65) you want to flash O_H_5_96_REV16_78_a12.hex
For S_H_50 (meteor75) you want to flash S_H_5_48_REV16_78_a12.HEX
This firmware was found from JazzMaverick Github here. If you have a different firmware version, make sure you match it up from the guthub and flash the correct firmware.

MAKE sure when you flash that you click YES to writing previous settings to your ESC.

Step 3 - Save previous Betaflight settings unique to you.

Connect to Betaflight and goto CLI and type DIFF ALL. Copy this into notepad and keep aside as you will need it for later reference.

Step 4 - Flash Emuflight 0.2.12

You will need to check the target is correct, however, for both Meteor 65/75 it should be EmuFlight_0.2.12_MATEKF411RX.hex

Download EmuFlight_0.2.12_MATEKF411RX.hex which is sourced from this EMUFLIGHT GITHUB

G
oto Betaflight and goto firmware flasher, load the file above, and then flash it.

Step 5 - Set up Emuflight

You will now need the Emuflight Configurator which is located here to connect and set up your flight controller.

Download our CLI DUMP with customized EMUFLIGHT settings from here.

Copy and paste that into your CLI as a base setup.

You now need to bring back across your customized settings from the backup you made in Betaflight.

You will want to bring across MAP, serial, adjrange, and any other preferences such as receiver type etc. Heres what mine looked like as an example.

Step 6 - Test & Fly!

Make sure your radio is all correct and receiving, your motors are spinning correctly etc and now go and have a fly!
